So Many Sites Closing
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:00:06 AM »
It seems like every day there is a closure announcement or a site shows up with an expired domain or hosting suspended.  Initially that might look like a bad thing and that PTR is crumbling.

I feel a bit differently about it.  I feel that there was intense oversaturation and that fewer programs (especially those with PTP) will be beneficial to the system in the long run.

#1 Wannabe POs without sound plans will become hesitant to open or take over programs.

#2 Members will be in fewer programs and have more time to explore what is being offered by the programs they are in.

#3 Less pressure on 3rd parties, possibly bringing better results.

#4 The POs who think outside the box have a better field on which to grow their ideas.

PTR in many of the ways we knew it is crumbling, but I think those programs and POs who remain will become stronger and better.

I too share your enthusiasm to what the future may bring us and look forward to being a part of it.

Is the bottle half full or half empty?
